Descript is a video and podcast editor where you edit the recording by editing its transcript: delete a word from the text and it disappears from the media. It also records screens and includes an AI co-editor called Underlord. Who it suits: podcasters, course creators, marketers and teams who want fast edits without learning a traditional timeline editor. Pricing (read Oct 2026): Free gives 60 media minutes per month, 100 one-time AI credits and 720p export. Hobbyist is $16 per month billed annually ($24 monthly) with 10 hours of media and 400 AI credits per month. Creator is $24 annually ($35 monthly) with 30 hours, 4K export and up to 3 seats. Business is $50 annually ($65 monthly) with 40 hours and 1,500 credits. Enterprise is custom. Things to know: AI credits and media minutes are capped per month, and top-ups are billed separately.
